Jon Sturgeon, VP Programs & Training
Jon heads the Business Development for The Tom Black Center for Selling. The Tom Black Center for Selling is a sales consulting and sales training company. The center consults both small and large companies.
Jon grew up in Lee’s Summit, MO a suburb of Kansas City. He graduated from Central Missouri State University and sold books door to door in the summers for Nashville’s Southwestern Company where he was a top salesman making over 2,000 demonstrations each summer and built a student sales organization of 40 students.
He moved to Franklin, TN in 1975 and attended grad school in Counseling Psychology at MTSU. He worked with Southwestern For 10 years in Sales Management, was the founding Director of the Placement division, and was the National Recruiting Director at Great American the fund raising division. He then joined MediFAX, a start up healthcare information technology company where he lead the sales effort for 10 years. As EVP of Sales and Marketing he helped the company to the INC500. The company was later sold to WebMD and is now called Emdeon.
He then joined TCS Management Group as Director of North American Sales where he doubled the size of the sales force selling call center software. Later the company merged with Aspect Communications, one of the leaders in CRM software. Jon was one of the founding members of the NASP Toastmasters club, is an Ambassador with The Greater Cool Springs Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Member Relations Committee of the Nashville Chamber of Commerce. He is a founder of the Williamson Referral Alliance Partners.

Joey Sims, President
Joey is an account executive for fNuVox Communications in Brentwood, TN. NuVox is a voice and data service provider that has been serving small to mid-size business customers for 10 years. NuVox provides local, long distance, Internet, private networking, VOIP, and security solutions. At NuVox, we focus on the customer and pride ourselves in providing top of the line customer care while helping our customers to use technology to be more efficient and to positively impact their bottom line.
Joey has nine years in the telecom business working with companies like AT & T, Southeastern Telecom and now NuVox. Prior to that, she was in the food industry selling for Carvel Ice Cream and Frito-Lay. Joey graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where she was involved with the American Marketing Association and Sigma Kappa Sorority. She is the mother of three and enjoys coaching her daughter and son's basketball teams. Joey is the current director at Lakeview Elementary for the WWBA basketball league. She is a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Hermitage, TN.
Greg Dungan, Chairman of the Board
Greg is the recent past president of NASP. He is a professional sales representative for JLM Office Products located at 3 Cauley Ave., Nashville, TN 37210. Jennifer Devine, VP of Public Relations
Jennifer Devine is a Nashville native, and graduated from MTSU with a major in Public Relations and a minor in Spanish. After living in Spain for a summer, Jennifer moved to Florida and worked for ResortQuest International in their property management division. After one too many hurricanes, Jennifer moved back to her hometown.
Jennifer now works as a life safety sales rep for SimplexGrinnell, a Tyco company, in their sales division. This company is a leader in fire, security and communications systems and services. SimplexGrinnel designs, engineers and installs best-in-class systems and also provides expert inspections, testing, maintenance and monitoring. As the industry's largest service organization of this type, they work with hospitals, restaurants---almost all types of commercial buildings. SimplexGrinnell has more than 10,000 technicians, installers and other professionals who provide responsive coverage through a network of local offices that cover all of North America.
Jennifer is an active member of the Nashville Junior Chamber of Commerce, Nashville BOMA (building and owner and managers association) and Toastmaster's. Jennifer also holds her Tennessee Real Estate License.

As a Senior New Member Representative, my responsibilities include inviting, contacting and extending invitations to new and existing businesses to invest in membership with the chamber. I help businesses grow through visability, exposure and networking opportunities. Our membership consists of business owners, professionals, community leaders and government officials who are dedicated to working together to enhance and improve our region. I seek those who have positive energy and want a voice in making sure that we have the best place to live, work, play and operate a business.
Cathy Boyd, VP of Special Events
Cathy is a regional outside sales representative with Mercury Supply Co., a distributor of industrial/commercial cleaning supplies and equipment. Cathy is a Past President of NASP and has been active with the organization for several years. Michael Climer, Treasurer
Michael is a Senior Communications Consultant for IDeACOM NETWORKS, a leading provider of business and healthcare communications solutions. Located in Nashville, Tennessee, he is a communications technology specialist engaged by Nashville’s leading healthcare, financial, real-estate, manufacturing and logistics businesses. Michael manages new and expansion projects throughout the U.S. utilizing resources from IDeACOM’s 84 offices nation-wide.
A Nashville native, Michael attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a Major in Business. He is active in the NASP, Nashville Technology Council and Leadership Health Care. He is a co-founder and President of the Nashville Business Club which is a long-standing network group of business professionals from varied business to business backgrounds.
Scott Metko, Program Chairman

A native of Appleton WI (yes, still a Cheesehead), Scott Metko graduated from UW Green Bay with a BA in Business Administration. Scott moved to Nashville in 2004 to run the Nashville office of IOH. A regular contributor to the Nashville Business Journal, Scott is also a member of the Sandler Sales President’s Club, Greater Nashville Apartment Association, and the Greater Nashville Hotel and Lodging Association, where he serves on the Political Action Committee. Every Sunday, you’ll find Scott in front of church, helping to lead worship from a set of drums. VP of Programs is Scott’s first board position in NASP.
Melanie Chapman, Creative Director

Melanie is originally from Indiana, and moved to Nashville in 1992 after living two years in Phoenix, Arizona. A member of NASP since May 2001, she also serves on the Membership Assimilation Committee for the Brentwood and Cool Springs Chamber of Commerce, volunteers for various events for the Nashville Chamber of Commerce, and is a member CABLE, the premier women's professional network of Nashville. In her personal life Melanie is a musician, and serves as Director of Music for Edgefield Baptist Church and is an frequent performer in community theatre around the area.
Gay is an account executive for RANDA Solutions in Nashville, TN. RANDA began eight years ago as a successful out-sourced IT services firm. Gay is a Middle Tennessee native and has been in technology sales for the past 10 years. Prior to technology sales, she worked as a tax auditor and internal auditor for the State ofTennessee. Gay has a bachelor’s degree from MTSU and an MBA from Vanderbilt’s OwenGraduate School of Management. Her pride and joy are her three teenagers who keep busy as they participate in football, track and dance. She is a member of Simeon Baptist Church in Antioch, TN.
Tom Harris, Sergeant at Arms
Tom is a Voice/Data Consultant for MBM in Murfreesboro, TN. MBM is a premier dealer for printer, copier and networking products in the Middle Tennessee area. Tom markets IP & digital voice products to new and existing accounts at MBM. Product lines include Allworx and XBlue. These systems target the small to mid-sized business customers.
Tom has over 30 years in the Telecom business working with companies like Western Union, MFS (which became MCI ), Black & Decker and Exxon. Tom graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park where he played football and he was the Captain of the Rugby Team. He now is the assistant Rugby Coach for MTSU and was the Head Football Coach for St. Rose Catholic School in Murfreesboro TN.
Mark Onan, Webmaster
Mark is a Marketing and Sales Executive with a track record of Success. He is an innovative professional with more than 15 years of technical sales, marketing, and hi tech customer service experience.
Mark is the Director of Sales & Marketing for Oman Systems, Inc. and has helped his firm grow their sales revenue and market share each year since 2000. He also has experience as a Consultative Sales Professional with Everest Technologies, and has been a Supervisor in the Technical Call Center with American General Company as well as an Analyst in the Customer Service Department with Nortel Networks.
Mark has a Master of Science in Computer Information Systems from MTSU Middle Tennessee State University and before that earned his BBA in Marketing and a BA in Advertising and Public Relations from Idaho State University
